We are a group of female professionals, highly trained in diverse fields of science, and represent Bugs Without Borders, a unique business driven by our desire to inform children and adults alike about the importance of insects to our existence.
The majority of people are unaware of the huge impact insects and their cohorts have on the ecology of planet Earth. For this reason, we have created BWB, with the mandate of providing fun, educational programs that not only address the natural curiosity of children, but also the growing awareness of global environmental issues.
Our various hands-on workshops allow children to interact with a variety of live specimens including giant thorny walking sticks, hissing cockroaches, praying mantids and many more, while using their senses to further develop their appreciation of the world around them.
Bugs Without Borders is committed to insect education, conservation, and ultimately, rainforest preservation.
Rainforests are home to many unique and diverse species of plants, animals, and microorganisms, yet, at an alarming rate rainforests are being destroyed by deforestation or logging.
Through our many travels, it is devastating to see the effects of habitat loss, pollution, human population, global warming, invasive species, and harvesting of species, all factors that contribute to the endangerment and/or extinction of various species of plant and animals.
It is therefore, our mission to educate people about the importance of insects, their roles, responsibilities, and the intricate lives they lead in our shared world, thus creating an understanding that everything is interconnected creating a delicate, complex balance and sustainability in the ecosystem.
